App Player
The RedCritter App player gives you convenient access to every RedCritter App in the catalog. Embedded within Outlook, it works in conjunction with your actions and preferences. The App Player gives you total control over App customization. Playback control is easy with familiar media player navigation controls.
Playlists
The Playlists area lets you customize and organize your App playback sequence. Set up as many channels as you like and toggle between them at any time. Adding and removing Apps can be done here or on this site. Drag and drop reordering makes it easy to sequence your Apps. You can also drag any App to the App Player to play it.
Notifications
Items appear in the notifications area when an App has important Outlook-related or time sensitive information. Simply click any notification to instantly jump to the App requesting your attention. Icons will also appear in the Channels area on the App icon when an icon raises a notification.
Security
RedCritter offers solutions designed to meet the security needs of any organization. Our two deployment models, Cloud (software as a service) and On-Premise (host your own), offer protection designed to meet even the most stringent IT security requirements.
RedCritter Cloud uses industry standard SSL encryption, the same technology used by banks and online merchants, along with browser sandbox security. With RedCritter Cloud your IT department can configure user access based on your internal security policies.
Our on-premise versions, RedCritter SMB and RedCritter Enterprise, add additional levels of security by allowing your IT department to bring the RedCritter service in-house and giving you full control over the servers and Apps.
All versions of RedCritter allow 3rd party developers to easily extend Outlook while at the same time providing maximum security. RedCritter achieves this by isolating all Apps within a browser-based security sandbox. In English, that means RedCritter Apps can’t do anything that a normal web page with Microsoft Silverlight can’t do, with the following opt-in exceptions…
RedCritter Profile:
You may choose to allow Apps to access your RedCritter profile information. This is completely optional, but it provides the benefit of allowing Apps to self-configure themselves based on your stored personal settings.
Outlook Information:
Some RedCritter Apps are designed to work in conjunction with you as you use Outlook. If you permit it, these apps have access to information such as your currently selected Email, contact or appointment. Typically Apps use this information to present you with context-related information as you work. All Apps that access your Outlook are clearly marked in RedCritter and you will be prompted to allow or deny access to each Outlook-enabled App that you add.
File System Information:
Some RedCritter Apps are designed to work in conjunction with Windows Desktop Search. If you permit it, these apps have access to search your PC or network files as configured in your Windows Desktop Search preferences. Typically Apps use this information to present you with context-related information as you work. All Apps that access your Outlook are clearly marked in RedCritter and you will be prompted to allow or deny access to each Windows Desktop Search-enabled App that you add.
